SOLO & ENSEMBLE: Nearly every student in the HS band program is enrolled for one or more events on Sat. Feb. 11.  We have a total of 75 different  events just from our 2 HS bands! You should be hearing a lot more home practice these next 4 weeks!!

VOLUNTEERS:     We are the host school again this year; the parent/adult volunteer meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 24, 7 PM in our room at the HS.  We will need all available hands – at least 40 parents – for food concessions and clerical work.

FEES:  All student application fees will be covered by the BGHS Band Boosters.  Each solo/ensemble event cost $15-20 each; therefore our costs will run in excess of $1200 for entry fees.

Accompanists:   Most soloists will need a piano accompanist, which we will schedule here at school.  The Band Boosters have been very supportive, as these accompanists need to be compensated for their time and talents. If your child is performing a solo and you would like to support this effort with a contribution, please remit toBGHS Band Boosters and mark the check for “piano accompanist”.  We will gladly accept all donations; each soloist cost us approx. $25 for each accompanying service.

WASHINGTON DC 2013:  More than 120 reservations have come in! 

1. We will continue to accept reservations for many more weeks; however, students can only receive fundraising proceeds AFTER they have returned their reservation cards.  (This is the policy of all of our previous trips.) 
2. There is no “ceiling” on chaperones at this time; more chaperones make for less work for each of you!

Trip Committee:  The next meeting of the trip committee will be Tuesday, February 21 at 6:00 pm in our room.  Parents willing to commit to the next 12-14 months of activity arewelcome to join us!
