THANKS! To the Wick Family for hosting last Saturday’s Band Party! Finally – great weather for the Bobcat Band! Thanks to all who helped prepare food, chaperone, etc
MARCHING BAND END-OF-SEASON CONCERT: Tuesday, October 18, we will be performing INDOORS in the PAC, 7:00 PM, to celebrate our 2011 season! The concert is free and open to the public; it will last approx. an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. Students will be wearing their regular marching uniforms, minus hats & gloves.
KROGER Sign-up Time! October is the start of the new fiscal quarter for Kroger earnings. Starting this month, a portion of every Kroger account will be held in individual savings accounts toward the future travel fund as well as the for band board’s general fund! You many enroll MANY people on behalf of your child; you just need to let us know! Band Booster Executive Board members will be available in the lobby before and after the concert to provide further explanation, if needed.
VOLUNTEERS: If you have not yet been available for Band Booster Volunteering, there will be several more opportunities! Additional copies of previous information will be available in the lobby at the Marching Band Concert.
AUDITION SEASON: Starting tomorrow, October 5, and continuing throughout the entire month, we will be hearing each and every student one at a time, mostly outside of the band class period. Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Kramer will hear all of the students; Mr. Corrigan will be assisting for some as well. If you have heard limited practicing around your homes – other than Sweet Child – watch for increased activity this month!
RECORDINGS: Those who ordered a 2010-2011 “Best of” CD recording will be receiving those soon. If you did not pre-order one of last year’s musical yearbooks, there will be a few extra for sale. If you want to order the 2011 marching CD – Soundwaves will be on the premises October 18 to record and to take orders.
UNIFORM MAINTENANCE FEE: Many thanks to the majority of families who have remitted their annual uniform maintenance fees; we are hoping to hear from the rest of you very soon! We will not be approaching any of your children directly; however, we appreciate EVERY family who is able to cooperate in this effort. Fees are $60.00 per family per year; checks are payable to the BGHS Band Boosters. Please identify your student’s name on the “memo line”.
BAND STORE: Posted around the music area is the most recent list of Band Store Debts. We are asking that the students to check the list and pay for their reeds, flip folders, etc. as soon as possible.
