ITINERARY 9.17.11

Anthony Wayne Band Festival

3:30 pm   CALL TIME – report to BGHS;    Load Truck/Busses; travel in SUMMER UNIFORMS, take REGULAR uniforms in garment bags.

4:30 pm  Arrive at Anthony Wayne HS; unload

5:00 pm “Massed Band” Rehearsal – we will be practicing with our host band and all  of the other HS  bands that have been invited.

5:45 PM  Complimentary Dinner from our hosts:  “The AWBB organization will provide complimentary hot dogs, veggie dogs, apples, chips and beverages for all of the band students, chaperones, bus drivers, and directors after the massed band practice.   During this time, we hope that the students will relax, mingle, and get to know each other a little.”

Sounds like you will not need to worry about dinner $$ at this event; however,  if you have any other food needs/allergies that a large group cook-out may not be able to accommodate, talk to me about alternatives. After dinner – change into the rest of your uniforms, restroom break, etc.

6:30pm  Fall into Conquest – march into their stadium (as we do at home)  playing our Fite Song, plus cadences.

7:00 pm Show starts – we watch our hosts’ pre-game, the other schools shows, we do our show, AW does a ½ time show then the Massed Band is at the end.  There are “awards” for participating – Maren & Dakota will be accepting on behalf of the Bobcats.

 9:30-10:00 pm   We’re Home!!!!

Notes:

• I am aware that there are many athlete events, etc. this day.  We will work with each & every student possible to get you there safely!  We do NOT want to spend all of these weeks rehearsing so diligently to then put on a poor performance – each of you is needed!!!  There is no “bench” in Band!  This is our ONE SPECIAL event for the marching season – we are NOT doing the BGSU Band Day, etc. this year.
• Parents/families/friends are ENCOURAGED to attend!
• This is a ticketed event –  $6  for adults; $4 students.  See posters in music area.
