Rehearsals July 13 & 15: We start the year on Tuesday, July 13, at 6:00 PM with all ninth graders. returning squad leaders, officers, field commanders and all percussionists. All other returning upperclassmen should arrive at 7:00 PM. Our room may still be a “maintenance zone” – watch for signs to let you know where to assemble.
-
Mailing: By the end of this week, you should have a thick white envelope delivered to your home address – for both your parents and yourself! This is the first of several “snail mails” for the summer. As the year progresses, we hope to use more email traffic and less paper.
-
Help Tomorrow, June 30: We will need to “button-down” the Instrumental Room to prepare for summer cleaning- we got the official word just this morning! I’m looking for help from our current officers, field commanders, and/or library workers who could lend a hand between 10:00 am-2:00 pm. We have to secure equipment in other parts of the building so that the July 13 & 15 practices can happen. Mrs. Smith will provide lunch for the willing volunteers!
-
Congratulations: Declan Wicks and Katie Cochrane, both members of the Class of 2013, have been chosen by competitive audition to perform as members of the Toledo Youth Orchestra (TYO)! They will join current BGHS members Whitney Bolin, oboe; Andrew Zeller, viola; and Gina Buzzelli, violin. We will look forward to your performances at the Peristyle this year!
-
Vacation Time: Both Mrs. Smith and Mr. Corrigan will be out-of-town starting July 2-July 9. Mr. Landry has one week of class down and several to go!
-
Thanks #1: To all of our Bobcat Families who attended last week’s DCI competition – what a terrific time for us all! (I thought for sure that Phantom would win!) Thanks to Mr. Corrigan for acting as our ticket agent! Students/parents will be receiving a $4 refund (per ticket) as we were able to get the tickets for $12 instead of $16.
-
Thanks #2: Our Bobcat Percussion section for their progress and hard work throughout the month of June! We’re looking forward to a terrific season. Junior Nathaniel Wilhelm will represent our band at the Smith-Walbridge Percussion Camp next week.
- Thanks #3: Pam Morris and Janet Hammersmith, uniform chairs, who have set a “new Bobcat Band record” for speedy uniform work! All formalwear and marching uniforms are clean and ready to reissue for 2010-11!
