Commencement Trivia
Parking: Due to BGSU construction projects, this is a big concern this time. We will provide details in class. For this year, car-pooling or “parent drop-off” is encouraged!
Plan Your Time: Traditionally, families of graduate start arriving VERY early to get “good” seats. Allow plenty of time to walk/drive/park and get organized to perform.
Attire:
- Ladies: Dresses, skirt/top, trousers for awkward instruments is OK. NO JEANS, NO SHORTS NO SKIMPY TOPS. Let’s attract attention by our music, only.
- Gentlemen: Nice trousers, collared shirt (dress shirt), necktie of your choice. NO JEANS, NO SHORTS.
-
Keep checking the weather reports for temperature & plan accordingly. Anderson Arena has NO air conditioning. Water bottles are a GOOD idea.
Expectations:
- Your best possible musicianship is needed, plus alert eyes & ears for changes in the music order, repeats, etc.
- Polite applause and support of your classmates is terrific. No “noise making- devices”, air horns, etc.
- There is approx. one hour of “sitting” without playing - be prepared. Have mouthpiece covers, spare reeds, etc.
- If all “pitch-in” with the “strike”, we all get home (go to DQ, etc.) sooner!
Emergencies:
-
In case of an emergency & you need to reach me on Friday: 419.354.0100 x. 1151.
Use the phone, not email, as I can’t always get to a computer during the day.
Each year, the performance of the Bobcat Band is very sentimental & important to the graduating class – your turn will come soon enough! Thanks for your service to the Class of 2010 and to the community of Bowling Green.
