December 6 Concert Itinerary

Band Families:  We are pleased and proud to present the return of the Holiday Band Concert for the BGHS  bands!  Our new performance space makes this much better and more efficient to offer!  A few things to know:

•    There is NO charge for this performance. Seats are on a “first-come” basis.
•    I have not found a “bad” seat in the house.  There are very good accommodations for wheel-chair users and others with mobility challenges.
•    You MAY use the circular drive right up to the front entrance to drop off folks who have walking difficulties. Parking is in the regular HS lot.
•    There are restrooms available in the Auditorium lobby – no need to trek through the HS building!
•    The lobby also has a coat room available – HOWEVER- at this time we do not have a system ready to have coat room attendants.  Use at your own discretion.
•    Students have staggered arrival times as per this schedule. (See below)   If you have more than 1 student, they may come together – HOWEVER – the “house” (where you sit in the theater),  will not be open until 2:20-2:30.  This will allow for some last minute  sound & lighting adjustments.
•    For your enjoyment, there will be Christmas music by our students in the lobby from 2:20-2:50. Take a moment to meet Miss Sarah Ludwig, our horn teacher from BGSU.  Several years ago, Sarah was our own BGHS student teacher!
•    The poinsettias around the stage will be available for sale after the Elementary/Middle School Band concert on Tuesday, December 8.

With such a fine BRAND NEW facility, we are asking that everyone read and be aware of these next bullets.  These are designed to enhance the look and the durability of our new home, as well as to complement the concert experience for all!

•    NO food/beverage in the auditorium.  If you arrive w/ water, coffee, etc. you are welcome to finish those items in the lobby, which is designated for refreshments.

•    Please refrain from entering or leaving the theater EXCEPT during logical breaks in the music – between songs, between bands, etc.  Obviously, medical emergencies are the exception!  This is always a good concert habit for the consideration of the performers. As the doors open & close, the student musicians are greatly distracted.

•    Please do not allow young children (or older ones!) to run the aisles, as tempting as they may be to be used as “runways”.  The theater can be made very dark for dramatic effect and we wouldn’t want anyone to get hurt!

•    There are very good “raised” seats near the exits – perhaps ideal seats for families with very young children. These seats will permit small children to see the stage better and if they should need “care” - they are closer to the exits for parent/caregiver’s convenience.

We have waited a very long time to have such a splendid place to showcase our very hard-working students.  We are grateful to the community for the generous support which provided this facility.  Please help us to preserve it for a very long time!

Thank you!
