Dear Parents/Guardians of the 2009-2010 Bobcat Band:
This is to invite you to participate in the 2009 Bobcat Band Recognition Night at the October 23 football game, BGHS vs. the Cougars of Sylvania Southview.
• For Parents of Seniors: Please plan to join us in the BGHS gym at 5:30 PM to organize for your “performance.” Corsages and boutonnières have been ordered for you and your son/daughter. We will help you organize and then meet your student at rehearsal. You will escort him/her along the sideline on the home sideline, stand with him/her for the BGHS Alma Mater, then move to the track for the National Anthem. We will be asking her/him here at school how they would like your name(s) read that evening. Each family may choose who and how they wish to be introduced. We welcome mother, father, step-parent, foster parent – whoever is the support system at home for your student. You will NOT need a ticket for the game that night; you will be “marching” along with us to the stadium and will not need to pay admission.
• For Parents of Juniors, Sophomores, Freshmen: We will recognize you during the pre-game activities by asking you to rise at your seats in the stadium and accept our applause. (However, we are not able to get ALL of you into the game for free – that is a “treat” reserved for the parents of seniors! Your turn will come!)
End of the Season: As marching season concludes, we will be performing for the public on TUESDAY, October 27 @ 7:00 PM in the BGHS Gym. This free concert is a reflection of our marching season’s music and events. Please plan to join us and bring your family, friends and neighbors!
Saturday, November 21 is the Annual Bowling Green Community Holiday Parade. Details will be forthcoming – plan on morning- early afternoon event, as we are the last band in the parade every year. We will strive to have everyone home in time for the OSU-UM kick-off!
Thanks for all the support this marching season – your sons and daughters have been terrific ambassadors of this community!
